An English clergyman named Jack Russell declared responsible for the establishment of this breed and that’s why, this breed is named after him. Particular use of this breed was hunting small animals and game specially foxes. They have the talent of digging around its den; this feature was appreciated by the breeders of that era around 1800s. The acceptance at a large scale encouraged the breeders to work hard on it. Jack Russell Terrier association was established initially; thereafter Another Association was established on 1st April 2003 which replaced the previous one. The organization was named as Parson Russell Terrier Association of America. The work principle remained the same; however, the breed divided into two types, newer one is known as Parson Russell Terrier. The breed is proficient in hunting, sensing and tracking. Amusement and performing naughty tricks are additional talent of this breed.
